<p>We have created a thorough packing list for people about to embark on the Kedarkantha Trek in the Himalayas because, as an adventure and trekking company, we frequently get inquiries from our trekkers about what to bring on their trek. Start by packing from the head to the foot or the foot to the head to ensure you remember everything.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>• Backpack: </strong>A comfortable 60–70-liter backpack with good hip and shoulder support, and accessible pockets.</p><p><strong>• Daypack: </strong>A smaller pack for day excursions and shorter hikes.</p><p><strong>• Footwear: </strong>Trekking shoes with ankle support and waterproofing, hiking sandals for rest periods and water crossings, and optional sneakers for driving and around the camp. Bring 3-4 pairs of quick-drying, warm, and comfortable socks.</p><p><strong>• Clothing: </strong>A good quality hiking/trekking jacket, quick-drying hiking pants, warm covers-ups like fleece-lined tracksuit pants or ski pants, undergarments, 3-4 warm and comfortable t-shirts and shorts, a long sleeve shirt, 4-5 pairs of socks, leggings, 2 pairs of thermals, a buff/balaclava to cover your neck, a beanie cap, a hiking hat, and gloves.</p><p>• <strong>Rainwear: </strong>Bring a raincoat and pants, or a rain poncho. Also, bring some small waterproof covers for your backpack and daypack.</p><p>• <strong>Gadgets and Electronics:</strong> Trekking poles, mobile phone, camera with spare batteries and a waterproof bag, a lightweight flashlight or headlight, a power bank, a music system/Bluetooth, plug/converter for electrical items, sunglasses, a 1-liter water bottle, a journal with a pen, a map and guide book of the region.</p><p>• <strong>Hygiene and Personal Toiletry: </strong>Sunscreen, 1-2 small quick-drying towels, toilet paper/tissues/wet-wipes, toothbrush/toothpaste/mouth freshener, deodorant/talcum powder, shampoo, lip gloss/salve, sanitary pads/tampons (for female travelers), biodegradable soap, nail clipper, and your other personal items that you use daily.</p><p>• <strong>Personal First Aid Kit and Energy:</strong> Antiseptic towel or water syringe, butterfly bandage for small cuts, cotton and elastic bandages and sterile gauze pad for larger wounds, latex gloves, medicine for diarrhea, cold, flu, fever headache, pain killers, ORS pouches, quick pain relief spray, any personal medicine prescribed by your doctor, Dimox or similar for high altitude sickness, bug repellent, and some nutritious/energy bars and drinks (non-alcoholic). Please consult your doctor before purchasing or taking any medicine.</p><p>• <strong>Compulsory Documents to Carry:</strong> Original and photocopy of government photo identity card, such as Aadhaar, voter ID, etc. These files are needed to be submitted at the Forest Department before your trek, and without them, you will not be permitted to trek.</p>
