Overview

About the 5 Night 6 Day Mauritius Honeymoon Package

Mauritius doesn't need much convincing. Turquoise lagoon on one side of the resort, sugarcane fields and old volcanic craters on the other, and a five-hour flight from most Indian metros that somehow still delivers a completely different world. This package is built around the Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort on a 5-star, breakfast-and-dinner basis, with the two island tours and Casela Nature Park doing the sightseeing work so the rest of the trip is genuinely free time.

The south of the island is the slower, more scenic half: a ship-building workshop in Curepipe, duty-free shopping in Floreal, the crater views at Trou aux Cerfs, and the sacred lake at Grand Bassin with its towering Mangal Mahadev statue, a spot that matters as much to Mauritius's Hindu community as any temple in India does. The Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth reserve rounds out the day: layered volcanic sand in genuinely seven distinct colours, plus waterfalls, rivers, and enough native flora and fauna to make the drive worth it on its own.

The north island day is more urban: Port Louis, the capital, with its citadel views and the Champ de Mars racecourse (the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere, older than most people expect), followed by shopping at the Caudan Waterfront's 170-odd stores. Casela Nature Park gets a half-day of its own, and it earns it. Giraffes, camels, big cats, an aviary walk, and a safari bus tour through free-roaming wildlife zones, all included on the entrance ticket.

The trip's centrepiece is Ile aux Cerfs, and most people who've been will tell you the same thing: it's the one day worth building the whole itinerary around. A speedboat crossing from Trou d'Eau Douce lands you on an islet with some of the clearest water on the island, with parasailing, an undersea walk, and banana boat rides available if you want them, or just a beach chair and a few hours doing nothing at all.

A few practical honeymoon notes. This is a shared-transfer itinerary for most days, which keeps the price down and is how most Mauritius packages run; only the Casela day is on a private transfer. Entrance tickets for included attractions are covered, but the extra water sports at Ile aux Cerfs are booked and paid on the day. And because Mauritius offers Indian citizens visa-free entry (or a free visa-on-arrival, depending on how it's processed at your point of entry), there's genuinely less pre-trip admin here than on most international honeymoon routes, just a passport with six months' validity and the standard online arrival form.

FAQs

No advance application needed. Indian passport holders receive visa-free entry or a free visa-on-arrival for tourism, valid for stays up to 60 days, with total stays extendable or allowable up to 90 days in certain contexts. There's no government fee either way. You'll just need a passport valid for 6+ months, a return ticket, and the online arrival declaration form.

A €3-per-person, per-night charge introduced in October 2025, payable directly at your hotel and not included in the package price. Children under 12 are exempt. For this 5-night stay, that works out to roughly €15 per adult across the trip.

Yes, and most past travellers say it's the highlight of the whole trip. The water really is that colour, the beach really is that good, and even with tourist crowds, the setting holds up. If you want quieter time, go early or ask your rep about timing the crossing before the bigger tour groups arrive

The entrance ticket covers the wildlife zones, aviary walk, safari bus tour, and the Tulawaka Gold Coaster ride, plus close-up viewing of the big cats, giraffes, and other animals. Hands-on experiences like the lion walk or breakfast with the giraffes are bookable separately at the park.

Breakfast and dinner are included at the resort on a daily basis. Lunches during the island tours and any meals at Ile aux Cerfs are on your own account

May to December is generally drier and cooler, with July to September the coolest window (good for sightseeing, less ideal for pure beach lounging). December to April is warmer and more humid, with a chance of cyclones in January and February. June to September is also peak honeymoon season for Indian couples, so book resort dates early if you're travelling then.

It sits comfortably mid-range. Cheaper than the Maldives for equivalent resort quality, similar to or slightly above Bali once you factor in the stronger all-inclusive resort culture here. Most of the cost is in the resort category you choose rather than the sightseeing, since the included tours and park entries keep day-to-day spending predictable.

Yes. A common add-on is a sunset catamaran cruise along the north coast, and couples who want more beach time sometimes trade the North Island Tour for an extra resort day. Ask your rep before booking if you want to adjust the balance between sightseeing and lounging
