Rishikesh is India's undisputed adventure capital - a place where the sacred Ganga rushes through rocky gorges, where Himalayan foothills meet ancient temples, and where every year hundreds of thousands of travellers come to feel truly alive. At the heart of that experience is this combination that has no equal in India: white-water rafting on the Ganga by day, sleeping under the stars in a hillside camp by night.
This 1 Night 2 Day Camping & Rafting package in Rishikesh by TriptoOcean takes care of everything - from your arrival at the camp to your final check-out after breakfast. You get a premium hillside tent with attached washroom and cooler (a genuine upgrade over the basic open campsites that dominate the market), 16 km of Ganga river rafting on the Shivpuri-Rishikesh stretch with Grade III rapids, all your meals (lunch, evening snacks, buffet dinner with chicken, and morning breakfast), and a bonfire evening from November through March. Free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, CCTV surveillance, and power backup are all available on-site.
Whether you are a college group looking for the perfect long weekend escape from Delhi, a corporate team on an offsite, a couple seeking a budget getaway, or a family with older children, this package is the most complete, best-value Rishikesh adventure experience at this price point. At just ₹1,400 per person, it is arguably the best-value adventure package in India.
Camp Location: Shivpuri, Rishikesh - approximately 15 km upstream from the main Rishikesh town, set on a hillside above the Ganga. The camp is not accessible by road after 7:30 PM due to Shivpuri police checkpoint regulations for night driving safety - please plan your arrival accordingly.
Arrival & Check-In
Arrive at the Shivpuri camp at your convenience. Note that mountain driving beyond the Tapovan (Rishikesh) check post is not permitted between 7:30 PM and 5:00 AM for safety - plan your departure from your city accordingly. Arriving by afternoon is ideal. A TripToOcean camp representative will greet you and assist with check-in. Please carry a photocopy of your photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Driving License / Passport) - this is required at check-in. Settle into your hillside tent with attached washroom and cooler.
Lunch (Included)
Lunch is served in the central dining area. The set menu includes Rice, Dal, Aloo Jeera, Raita, Chapati, Salad, and Pickle -a wholesome, filling vegetarian spread before your rafting adventure. All meals are served at the central dining area; no room service is available at the adventure camp.
16 km River Rafting on the Ganga
This is the centrepiece of the package. You board your raft at Shivpuri - the start of the most exciting and well-regarded river rafting in Rishikesh India - and paddle 16 km downstream to Nimbeepani (near Rishikesh). The route features some of the best rapids on the Ganga:
Double Trouble - Grade IV, the most exhilarating rapid on the route
Roller Coaster - Grade III+, the most famous rapid in Rishikesh rafting
Golf Course - Grade III, a long, technical rapid with a great ride
Marine Drive Crossings - Grade II, scenic and fast-flowing
Cliff Jumping - optional (approx. 15-20 ft at a safe designated point)
All safety equipment is provided - life jacket, helmet, paddle, and wetsuit (season-dependent). Certified river guides lead every raft. One raft accommodates 8–9 people; groups smaller or larger will be arranged as per river guide instructions.
Note: ₹20 per person rafting tourism fee payable directly at the rafting point.
Rafting timing on weekends is managed by the camp as per the Shivpuri camp association schedule - individual timings cannot be guaranteed on busy weekends.
Evening Snacks & Bonfire (Nov-Mar)
Return to camp after rafting and freshen up. Evening snacks are served between 7 PM and 8 PM - the menu includes Mixed Pakodas and Papad. From November to March, the bonfire is lit at the central area from 7 PM to 10 PM. Music is permitted from 7 PM to 10 PM only as per strict guidelines from the Shivpuri Police Chowki - music will stop at 10 PM sharp without exception. Carry your own cold drinks, ice, and alcohol - camp shops are limited and may not stock what you prefer.
Buffet Dinner (Veg + Non-Veg)
Dinner is served between 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM. The buffet includes Jeera Rice, Yellow Dal, Chicken Curry, Matar Paneer, Chapati, and Pickle. A hearty, satisfying spread after a full day of adventure. Dinner timing is fixed and will not change except in exceptional circumstances.
Wake up to the sound of the Ganga flowing below the hillside camp - one of the finest morning experiences you can have in the mountains. The camp is at an elevation with clear views of the forested hills and the river valley. Breakfast is served between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM in the central dining area and includes Aloo Parantha or Puri Sabji, Bread Toast, Pickle, and Tea. A satisfying send-off for the journey back.
Check out after breakfast. The camp team will assist you with your bags to the road head - please note that you are expected to carry your own bags (keep it light - use a backpack, not a heavy suitcase) from the road to the tent and back. Onward transportation to Rishikesh, Haridwar, or your departure point is to be arranged independently. Camp is approximately 15 km from Rishikesh town.
Included in Your Package:
Not Included:
By Road from Delhi: Rishikesh is approximately 260 km from Delhi - roughly 5 to 6 hours by road via NH-58 (Delhi-Haridwar-Rishikesh highway). This is the most popular route. Buses (UPSRTC/UTTC from Anand Vihar ISBT or Kashmiri Gate) run regularly and take approximately 6-8 hours. Taxis and private cabs can also be arranged for a direct drop.
By Road from Jaipur: Approximately 6 to 7 hours by road via Delhi or via the Gurgaon-Meerut-Muzaffarnagar-Haridwar route. Cab or private vehicle is the most practical option from Jaipur.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is Haridwar Junction - well-connected to Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and most major cities. From Haridwar, Rishikesh is approximately 25 km (45-60 minutes by shared taxi/auto/bus). Rishikesh Railway Station is also an option but has limited train connectivity.
By Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) - approximately 35 km from Rishikesh, well connected to Delhi (30-minute flight, multiple daily flights on IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India). From the airport, take a taxi or cab directly to the camp or to Rishikesh town.
Camp-to-Road Distance: The camp is approximately 15 km upstream from Rishikesh town (towards Shivpuri). Share your camp booking confirmation with the local taxi/cab at Rishikesh - they know the Shivpuri camp area well. Arrive before 7:30 PM.
Please Read Carefully
Yes - river rafting on the 16 km Shivpuri-Rishikesh route is safe for beginners. All participants are provided with CILA-certified life jackets, helmets, and paddles. Each raft is led by a trained, certified river guide with years of experience on this specific stretch. You do not need to know how to swim - the life jacket keeps you buoyant. However, if you have a serious medical condition (heart problems, epilepsy, back injuries, pregnancy), please consult your doctor before booking and inform the camp at the time of enquiry.
The best seasons are October to November and February to June. Post-monsoon (October-November) offers perfect river conditions with exciting water levels and cool, clear weather. February to June is peak rafting season - the river is ideal and the weather is comfortable. November to March also brings the bonfire experience included in this package. July-September (monsoon) is generally closed for rafting due to high water and safety concerns. January can be very cold but the camp is operational.
Yes - unlike many basic Rishikesh camps that provide community/shared washrooms, this camp provides premium hillside Swiss tents with attached private washrooms and a cooler in each tent. The tents are set on the hillside overlooking the Ganga valley. Bedding, pillows, and mattresses are provided. This is the key differentiator of this camp versus budget options - proper attached toilet/washroom facilities within the tent without needing to walk to a shared block in the dark.
Yes - you may carry and consume your own alcohol at the camp. The camp does not sell or provide alcohol. We recommend purchasing it in Rishikesh town (or Haridwar) before arriving, as shops near the camp have limited stock and unpredictable availability. Also carry cold drinks, ice, and any other personal beverages you prefer. Please consume responsibly - aggressive behaviour, littering, or disturbances will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the camp.
Keep it light - you carry your own bag to the tent. Recommended items: a change of clothes (you will get wet during rafting), quick-dry shorts/tracks for rafting, flip-flops/slippers for camp, sports shoes/trekking sandals, a light jacket (mandatory in winter months), sunscreen and sunglasses, your personal toiletries, photocopy of ID, cash for incidentals (ATM at least 15 km away), personal medicines if needed, and a small torch/phone with a torch app. Leave heavy luggage, trolleys, and suitcases in Rishikesh/Haridwar if you are continuing onward after checkout.
Absolutely - this camp regularly hosts college groups, corporate offsites, bachelor parties, and large friend groups. For groups of 20 or more, special group pricing may be available. Contact TripToOcean on WhatsApp (+91 8209951350) with your group size and preferred dates for a custom group quote. Large groups should book at least 3-4 weeks in advance, especially for weekend departures in peak season (October–November and February–May), as the camp has limited capacity and fills quickly.
The camp is operational approximately October through June. Rishikesh rafting is typically suspended during the monsoon (July to mid-September) due to high and unsafe water levels on the Ganga. The camp may also temporarily close during severe weather events or during the rafting ban period imposed by the Uttarakhand government each year. Contact TripToOcean before booking to confirm camp availability on your specific dates, especially if you are planning a trip between June and October.
No - dinner includes both vegetarian (Matar Paneer) and non-vegetarian (Chicken Curry) options in the buffet. Lunch is vegetarian. Breakfast is vegetarian. If your group requires exclusively vegetarian or Jain food, please inform TripToOcean at the time of booking so the camp kitchen can be notified in advance. Purely veg groups can opt out of the non-veg dinner items without any price change.
